may my works be pleasing in your eyes

While we’re still on the subject of being grateful, another thought for you to munch on.

A lot of the things we do in our different capacities are because we’re trying to please someone. Maybe we want to please ourselves, impress our friends or mollify our loved ones.

Maybe we want to get into the boss’ good books so we can justify the raise or promotion.

Or perhaps it’s a last minute panic to deliver something, a project or a piece of work so as to avoid the repercussions.

We spend a lot of energy on trying our best to please people.

But…

How much energy do you spend trying to please God?

How often do you do something simply to make Him smile?

The most ironic thing is He’s the only one who accepts you for who you are. And yet many times we go out of our way to consciously or unconsciously ignore Him, looking only for the gratification of our fellow man.

It’s not like He asks you for much.

You know, just think about it…

The world we live in is harsh and many times we will be at fault in the eyes of God. Its hard to please God all the time. However, through our good works, good deeds and the way we relate with other people, we can manifest the God-liness in us and they will praise God for that, which is pleasing to God.

    Matthew 5:13-16

Igis you took words right out of my fingers…lol..

Solomon I am a guilty of this accusation at times..but you know what the amazing thing with God is he is faithful even when we are faithless…But when we realise that he is still God at all time we make him smile…

TRP? Newbies don’t take socks…all socks belong to Miss CHERI or NEV so we decide who should take them.

That said, how are u? Good to see u. I hope u find this home comfortable. Have a seat. Drink?

Igis, I’m shocked u quote from the Bible. I have reinstated u.

SK, when they say God is good all the time, they know what they are saying. He is good. How many times I have turned my back on him but he still welcomes me with open arms each time.

@Rising Page, okay okay, I hereby acknowledge your socks.

@Igis, dawg, I’m impressed lol, no offence, but hearing scripture from you is shocking. high five!

@Ugandan Girl, His faithfulness and grace are the only things that keep some of us going.

@Miss Fyne, trust me, we all fall, and without His grace, we’d all be lost. Now easy on TRP. lol

@Miss Eizzy, not every one is driven by gain, especially when it comes to their spirituality

@B2B, our hookup is long overdue man, let’s squeeeze in a day next week

You’re spot on. I spend so much time trying to please my parents, my friends, etc etc but I honestly don’t spend that much time trying to please God. I’ll think about it but never get round to it.

    Definite food for thought

1Co 10:31 Therefore whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Let’s not get too performance conscious people, may we focus on the grace that is Jesus Christ.

I agree sometimes we are really selfish to God and yet He takes it in stride, in fact in more than a stride. This God of ours is a good God.

Let us also remember Php 2:13 For it is God who works in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure.

May we acknowledge the fact that He is at work in us.

Lastly Eph 2:4 But God’s mercy is so abundant, and his love for us is so great,

    Thanks Rogue King for this.

Miss hi. TRP you almost confused me..
