relatively redundant random recaps
I haven’t blogged in over two weeks, and it feels like a lifetime. It is mostly because the Rogue and the King were having a little [ lighthearted ] discussion over the blog and its intended direction/audience. It would appear that it has veered miles away from the road I’d destined for it.
So I almost took it down, temporarily, of course, while I re-evaluated its direction, but after being informed by three totally random people on three completely random occasions that they found the blog extremely useful to them, I figured I’d live it online as I figured out a more focused direction for the blog.
Apropos,
Boda-Bodas and Computers
Last week, I had the most fascinating conversation with a boda-boda dude. It was about computers, building them, Pentium 4s and the new Core 2 Duo or Duo Core. In Luganda! I was mostly enlightening him, but he definitely knew what he was talking about, so he could follow along very easily. The metaphors were even more enlightening to me, he asked me if a Duo Core processor was like a car with a turbo charger/supercharger. I told him yes, but only if the turbo charger/supercharger was as powerful as the main engine itself. Long story short, he’s saving up to buy a computer, part by part, and I gave him my card and told him I’d be glad to help him buy one when he finally had all the money he needed.
School Blues
Yesterday was two of my siblings’ visiting day, and since they are both in the same school, it made life a lot easier, but the shopping was a pain. I had to keep buying everything in doubles and at one point I realised it would’ve been majorly helpful if I had someone around to help (especially a dame, since they’re both girls).
I got through the entire day in one piece, but I can now say I fully appreciate the pain parents/ guardians go through putting kids through school. After one year of taking care of my siblings fees/clothing/medical needs and lugging around kaveeras of grub for their visiting days (yesterday’s load was exceptionally heavy), I have a whole lot of respect for the stuff parents do/did for us, especially when we resented them for seemingly not caring.
In other news, I think I’ve peaked. I need either bigger challenges, a wider perspective, narrower focus or all the above. More on that later.

Rogue FM: Nickelback – This Afternoon
[ Taken off Nickelback's Dark Horse album, an upbeat lazy-Saturday-afternoon-chill-party song that would make so much sense to Johnny. ]

You think you have peaked??? Lucky you!!
I do not think a blog can have an intended direction/audience, its each single post that does. There, problem solved! Now, key away….
